Bright ideas
We put in pendants, recessed pot lights, LEDs below the cabinets and outlet upgrades, because the right light transforms cooking and entertaining.

Contact us to check availability →FAQIn Richmond Hill, it turns mostly on the City's permit list. New cupboards on the existing layout, with painting and decorating, need no building permit, so the quote is mostly cabinets, counters, backsplash and labour. Taking out a wall, moving the sink to an island or rerouting ductwork makes the kitchen an alteration, and the drawings, permit, inspections and trades work for whatever moves are each priced on their own line.
Most kitchens take 3 to 5 weeks of work once the crew starts. In Richmond Hill, the stretch before that depends on the plan. New cupboards on the old layout have no City review in front of them. A plan that takes down a wall or moves the sink or ductwork starts only after the building permit is issued, and the schedule we hand you counts that review in from the beginning.
For cupboards and finishes, no. For alterations, yes. The City's permit FAQ names constructing kitchen cupboards, painting and decorating as work that needs no permit, but alterations to the building do need one, so a wall coming down, a sink line run to an island or a range hood duct taken out through a new wall all go through the City. We tell you which case you are in when we measure, and run the application and inspections when one is needed.
Yes, as a permitted alteration. The drawings go to the City first, and the wall comes down only after the permit is issued, with inspections booked as the work reaches them. Planning can take real time: Mark Milovanov's review mentions three days spent finalizing plans with a designer and an engineer.

It depends on the kitchen, and the itemized quote shows what each part costs before you commit. Keeping the sink, walls and ducts where they are holds the job to cabinets, counters and finishes; moving any of them adds drawings, a Richmond Hill permit and alteration work.

If there is room to walk around it and you will use it, yes. We draw it into the 3D renders so you can check the clearances first. An island with a sink or cooktop moves plumbing or venting, which brings a permit in Richmond Hill.

Ask how many other jobs the crew will be running alongside yours. We only take on work we can commit to, rather than juggling three projects at once, so on the days we are at your house, your kitchen is the job in front of us.

Yes. We measure the kitchen as it stands and fit the new cabinets, counters and backsplash around the sink, range and fridge where they are now. You keep the routine you already have in the room.

Yes. Our designers draw them to your kitchen's own measurements, so the run can fill corners and gaps that stock sizes leave. You pick the door style, finish and hardware with us, inside the budget.

Mostly the work the old cabinets were hiding. With them off the walls, a licensed electrician can add counter outlets or wiring for new lights, and the bare walls can be patched and painted before the new cabinets go up.

Good to KnowIn Richmond Hill, a kitchen that keeps its walls, sink and ducts where they are also stays clear of a permit, so whether the layout changes is the first thing that shapes the cost. Past the layout, the quote follows your cabinet, counter and backsplash choices, plus the trades work and the permit set for anything that relocates, all itemized after the free consultation.
We aim for a quote you can hold us to: every line priced, and a change goes ahead only after you have seen what it costs. Kevin Boodoosingh, whose storage room we turned into a home gym, pointed to our thorough quoting and fair pricing.
The City puts constructing kitchen cupboards, painting and decorating on its no-permit list, and says alterations to a building need a permit. In a kitchen that line usually falls at the services and the structure: a wall taken down, a sink line run to an island, or a range hood duct rerouted through an outside wall. When your plan crosses it, we prepare the drawings, file them and book the inspections, and the review time is already in the schedule you get from us.
Keeping the layout means the sink stays over its drain, the range stays where its venting runs and the walls stay put. Everything inside that footprint can change: new cabinet boxes and doors, including custom kitchen cabinets, new counters, a tile backsplash, handles and taps. Because building kitchen cupboards is on Richmond Hill's no-permit list, a kitchen like this has no City step between your sign-off and the install. The 3D renders show door swings, upper cabinet heights and the backsplash tile before anything is ordered.
Your contact for the whole kitchen is one project manager, who sends an update every day of the build and schedules the licensed plumber and electrician around the cabinet work. Designers, project managers and trades are one company, so you are not lining up separate contractors yourself. Richmond Hill kitchens are run from our Bradford location. At the end we go over the room with you detail by detail, and 30 days later we call to see how it is working.
